Just Be As Though You Weren’t There At All – performative installation V1 – Gallery 6.4. - 14.4.

Just Be As Though You Weren’t There At All is a performative installation taking place at the V1 – Gallery at the aalto University Väre building. The installation is an artistic implementation of my MA thesis in the Visual Culture Curating and Contemporary Art program of Aalto University.

The starting point of the work has been the idea of studying the space as a performance. I consider three different spaces as places that can be observed as constructed performances and explore my own relation to them as a person performing in/with them. The places are Väre building lobby in Aalto university Otaniemi, Letonniemi nature reserve in Oulu and my back yard/the living room, also in Oulu Finland.

The installation will consist interactive video/sound pieces, objects, apparatus and and performative elements. I will use the gallery space as a sort of studio and experiment different things with the material I have gathered during the process, so for the installation will be different every day.

 

The work also contained a short performance in the space and in its surroundings at 13.4. 18.00 a clock.

Just Be As Though You Weren't There At All

Just Be As Though You Weren't There At All on Aalto-yliopiston Väre-rakennuksen V1 – Galleriassa tapahtuva performatiivinen installaatio. Installaatio on taiteellinen toteutus Aalto-yliopiston Visuaalisen kulttuurin kuratoinnin ja nykytaiteen koulutusohjelman maisterityöstäni.

 

Teoksen lähtökohtana on ollut ajatus tilan tutkimisesta esityksenä. Tutkailen kolmea eri paikkaa, jotka voidaan nähd konstruoituina esityksinä ja tutkin omaa suhdettani niihin esiintyjänä/niiden kanssa. Paikat ovat Väre rakennuksen aula Aalto-yliopiston Otaniemessä, Letonniemen luonnonsuojelualue Oulussa ja takapihani/olohuone, myös Oulussa.

 

Installaatio koostuu interaktiivisista video/ääniteoksista, esineistä, apparaateista ja performatiivisista elementeistä. Käytän galleriatilaa eräänlaisena studiona ja kokeilen erilaisia ​​asioita prosessin aikana keräämäni materiaalin kanssa, joten installaatio tulee olemaan joka päivä erilainen.

 

Järjestin myös esityksen tilassa ja sen ympäristössä ke 13.4. klo 18.00
